2008 Winter Pennant

Winter Pennant Grand Finals were held on Tuesday 2nd September 2008 at the Woodville Table Tennis Club. Results and photos of winning teams are on the Winter Pennant page.

State Awards and Rankings

State awards were presented and players' rankings were revealed at TTSA Presentation Dinner held at the Marryatville Hotel on Saturday 20th September 2008.

Player of the Year

Table tennis Australia has selected William Henzell as the 2008 Player of the Year. This year, William won the singles, doubles, and mixed doubles at the Australian Open and Australian Closed. He remained undefeated at the Australian and Olympic Games Qualifying Tournaments, and excelled at the Beijing Olympics.

Level 2 Coaching Course

Table Tennis Australia is holding a 5 days Level 2 Coaching Course at Sydney Olympic Park from 1st to 5th November 2008. The course will be conducted by National Head Coach, Marcus Gustafson and High Performance & Coaching Director, Sue Stevenson, with guest speakers.

Racket Testing at Australian Championships

Random racket testing will be conducted at the forthcoming Australian Juniors and Australian Veterans Championships.

Murray Bridge 60th Reunion

Murray Bridge & Districts Table Tennis Club will be holding a 60th anniversary table tennis reunion with a BBQ lunch at the Brinkley Hall, Brinkley Road, Murray Bridge on Sunday 12th October from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be lucky prizes, raffles, fun and games. Smash Hit table tennis started on 26th July 2008 and will be played at East Adelaide, Sturt, and Woodville clubs on Saturday mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. and also at Tea Tree Gully on Tuesday evenings 7 to 8:30 p.m.
